Artificial Sleep

Sonya’s Three Line Tales #245

Night has embraced my soul and I am about to drift away into the wild and screaming world of my imagination.

The place where I am surrounded by darkness, but my mind cannot make up that the very state of lack of light is caused by a very disturbed mind, and myself placing my purpose of vision under the blanket- I hear the footsteps of black silhouettes- possibly approaching towards me.

Now I wait – to hear the gunshot or wait for the gloved hand to stab me with a sharp knife, or to strangle me; just as I was expecting one of the many deaths I have fantasized, the medicine slowly works its way to calm my nerves and close my eyes into the depth of artificial sleep.
