Eugi’s weekly prompt – Autumn Leaves –
Late Post 😀
As the new normal for me, I keep missing the prompts 😀
Suspended between their past and future,
they weave dreams dipped in bright orange.
Adjusting their sails to sail away with the wind,
casting shadows on an unknown road to tread.
Every turn uncertain but every fall, so certain.
They are called autumn leaves and ,
their journey – an adventure- every swirl for them.
What assurance did the wind whisper
for them to detach from their roots of creation?
Maybe promises of an unheard unknown land,
or never ending seepage of immortal nectar.
What part of the promise seduced the tree
to shed his cloak of gold to be naked and cold?
Whatever be the reason, the wind played well,
and hence the quest of life begins.
Adventure for sure- they know not, what come may.
They wished upon their life, a better one,
and the moment they left things behind,
the sun shone with thousand rays of hope.
They sang the song of joy and
off they went without a ploy.
Round and round and round they danced,
like a graceful ballerina on stage.
And then they land upon the bare chest of future.
But by the time they decide their spot,
the wind leaves them with a swoosh.
But the leaves know no complaints,
as if this was the promised part-
after all these years of looking down below,
maybe they needed a change in stance.
The harvest moon has risen at last.

Even if you are late, you never fail to mesmerize us with your words.
Only if Autumn leaves could read, how beautiful someone can write for them.
And last lines were the soul of the poem.
Extremely beautiful Nima!
I hope you are doing good, take care!

Hey Nima! 🤗 I’m very good. How are you?
I had planned for a 2-week break. Sadly, that got extended. I have quite a lot in written form, but finding it hard to put online. I hope I start being regular soon. 🙂
