Grey Thoughts

For MTB: Stream of Consciousness Writing from dVerse Poets

Brittany Burns

Life’s incessant tapestry
goes on and on, no halt.
Lucid dreams but in black, and
white is only the moon.
My thoughts in but grey
hover in the skies as
wandering clouds in grim
unable to decide whether and where,
to drizzle or to rain or to storm.
In doubt of what will sprout,
after the voluptuous erupt !
Blades of grass sharp enough
to slit throats of vain or
pretty flowers that will birth
love in all colors? – I wonder.
That white moon causes tides,
up and down goes my chest,
while I breathe in
unseen particles of doubt and
with closed eyes.
The sun seems reluctant
to end my misery and it goes on and on.
Every night with closed eyes,
I see my grey thoughts
wandering over the dark horizons.
