My Colors

For Sadje’s What Do you See #42

Come, fall in love with my colors,
I have one for every reason,
adorned upon my sublime body,
but hidden in the absence of light.

Come, choose your color of like,
for them in me shall never dry up.
Over a lifetime of casting spells,
Have I collected much more to the stock.

They call me a fairy, and,
sometimes a witch.
But all I can remember is
the pain of birthing illusions.

The wind in me has died,
and the dreams have all perished.
I remain a shadow-
a shadow of me lost somewhere.

My eyes are hollow and plain,
two white sheets with black dots,
ink spilled from the empty insides,
of a pen with a strong shake.

No poems cam evolve nor
any stories from them.
No love shall be born,
and takes of revenge lost forever.

I have all the colors in me,
you can see them shining thro’ me.
as flickering lamps on an eerie night,
will-o-the-wisps in marshes and swamps,
or as mere glittering face paint.
I have all the colors in me,
but I do not have the strength,
to stroke my brush and pen.
But all my colors shall not go in vain.
Choose your colors from this palette,
paint your life with words,and
mark them with these true shades.
