Gratitude

For Eugi’s Weekly Prompt – GRATITUDE

A ‘no life’ realm exists somewhere,
And I- from the soil there, was made.
Blood – I was given- when
just a piece of flesh.
And later a heart, heartbeat,
hands and legs, a head and a face.
I started the act without a script,
I was unaware of who had it.
I danced to the tune of people,
but sometimes of my mind too.
I sang the song of humans,
Though I was oblivious to the lyrics.
My roots ran deep down the soil,
And hence was never thirsty.
Without wings, I flew among the clouds,
I touched the sky – day and night.
The winds blew air in my lungs,
what I exhaled, they inhaled.
I found me and soil of the same shade,
And we both found solace in rains.
I cried when it rained, pure joy,
I drank every drop with greed.
I smelled of the many flowers
and I bloomed when they did.
Fire was orange, so was I,
I had a field of embers in me.
Resonating with the elements,
Endured my every day.
The unknown link or,
an invisible connection,
an untold gratitude,
tethered me to them.
Oh !! And to repay ?
I shall return the soil,
I shall return the wind,
I shall give my scent and
My embers and my water,
back and fully and gracefully.
I prefer to be lost again in
the realm of ‘no-life’.

  1. I loved how you began it describing how we came into existence.

    “I shall return the soil,
    I shall return the wind,
I shall give my scent and
    My embers and my water,
    back and fully and gracefully.
I prefer to be lost again in
    the realm of ‘no-life’.”

    I loved these lines particularly!

Very well done ha Nima! Sending love to tenth Zodiac♥️
