Prompt from Eugi’s CauserieSUNSHINE

A ray of sunshine,
Between you and me.
You, above the clouds,
And me, below them.
You were of shade white,
And I had the rainbow.
You shed your tears,
So I could  have seven colors.

When you descended once,
We confessed our love.
This same ray,
Witnessed it then.
The chilly mornings,
Were meant to cuddle,
To soak in the warmth.
You always left a gap
In the curtains,
So that we could count,
The β€˜things’ floating in air.
This ray of sunshine,
always held us together.

And now that you are gone,
To other side of sun,
I read the hidden notes,
You send
By casting shadows,
Upon the rainbows,
Upon the green pasture.
When bouts of wind,
played with my loose hair,
The same ray of sunshine,
Between you and me
Stood sole witness.

  1. This is an amazing poem, Nima! Colorful and rich in its imagery and soaked with raw emotion that is inescapable. Finding a loved one in the little things left behind is so beautiful a sentiment. Well written!
