The Sagacious Me/ Poem

The world calls me Sagacious,
But I know I am just fine.
I never follow the herd,
Reluctant to surrender,
Or may be –
I am an expert in discernment.
I never cared nor will I,
I may be uncouth or,
My life may be upturned.
My mind is so frozen,
That even the burning charcoal,
Can never melt even a sliver.
I have my own ways,
And I will never give up.
Even when my elbow is broken.
I will succumb only when,
The wind howls a dulcet,
Into my ears- from a mystery land,
Or the world of fairies and nightingales,
Where the snowdrops never wilt.
